Kennel cough is a very serious and very common illness that typically affects dogs, cats, pigs, rabbits, and in rare cases it can affect humans. In a dog, the most common carriers, the disease is highlighted by a chronic cough and by discharge from the nose and the eyes. In dogs the disease itself is not incredibly dangerous. It can typically be treated with antibiotic medication as well as with items such as a humidifier or a supplement such as raw honey.
